Immediate Action Required

I recently was emailed regarding an impending execution in Maryland. Being opposed to the "death penalty", I wanted to pass this along. Today I let the Bishops do the writing for me.

Ask for Commutation of Wesley Baker's Death Sentence

Appeal for Mercy

Take Action!

Contact Governor Ehrlich

Monday evening, November 28, following a prayerful visit with death-row inmate Wesley Baker, Baltimore Cardinal William H. Keeler released a letter sent earlier in the day to Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. Baker is scheduled to die by lethal injection sometime during the week of December 5th for the 1991 murder of Mrs. Jane Tyson. Cardinal Keeler spoke with Mrs. Tyson’s husband and one of her daughters prior his visit with Baker.

Co-signed by Washington Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick and Wilmington Bishop Michael A. Saltarelli, the letter urges the governor to spare Baker’s life. “[N]o decision of your gubernatorial service can be more momentous than the decision to extend, or to withhold the hand of mercy,” the prelates said in their letter.

The letter’s full content, including references to Holy Scripture and Church teaching, is available on the Maryland Catholic Conference’s web site, at www.mdcathcon.org.

Here is a link straight to the letter.

Here is a link to a page that will let you send an email to Governor Ehlrich.

No, this isn't about the newest remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers...

Are you looking for a new job? Might you relocate? Are you moving to be closer to family? Are you banging your head against the wall trying to figure out the scheduling logistics involved with getting the moving van, packing and unpacking and then returning he moving van, maybe all while trying to negotiate settlement date appointments?

Well, now there's something else to consider: www.PODS.com PODS stands for Portable On Demand Storage. The company delivers the PODS (8 ft x 8ft x either 12 or 16ft)to you, you can fill with less of a time constraint (the first month's rental is included in your payment), and then have them delivered to another location or have them sent to their warehouse.

Check it out :)
